HWOA is now hiring 10 bilingual (Spanish-English) individuals as In-Person Assister (IPA) Guides before June 17, 2013.  IPA Guides will go throughout Benton and Washington County assisting individuals in signing up for the new health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare).  The job will involve travel throughout Benton and Washington Counties, lots of consumer contact, and setting up meetings/events with nonprofits, businesses, and other entities.  Training on medical terminology, insurance options, and using the computer program will be included.

To qualify, applicants must:

·        Be bilingual (English-Spanish)

·        Be at least 18 years of age

·        Have a high school diploma or a general education development (GED) certificate

·        Be competent, trustworthy, financially responsible, and of good personal and business reputation (Be able to pass a background check)

·        Have a working level of computer and internet skills or demonstrate a willingness to learn

·        Have a driver’s license, access to a working vehicle, and a clean driving record

·        Have flexible hours

·        Be able to demonstrate interpersonal skills

·        Pass an examination and satisfy the educational requirements the Insurance Commissioner establishes (after training)

One individual (of the 10) will be hired as a supervisor for the program.  Additional qualifications for the supervisor role include:

·        Some post-secondary education (Associates or above)

·        Ability to pass the Administrative Office of the Courts initial translation test

·        Some management experience

 At this time we do not have all of the details about the program, but we anticipate the contract will be for one year.

Compensation will include mileage for outreach driving.
