The Hispanic Women’s Organization of Arkansas (HWOA) invites you to attend its 10thAnnual Conference on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Jones Center in Springdale. The conference is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. For more information please contact the HWOA office.

 


Cinco de Mayo

Come have a good time at the Hispanic Women's Organization of Arkansas' 12th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration Saturday, May 7, from 12:00 pm to 8:00pm at the Jones Center in Springdale.  There will be musical and dance performances from local groups and world cuisine available from some of the areas top restaurants, as well as booths set up by businesses and community service organizations.  Cinco de Mayo is a family oriented event which is free to the public.  So, set aside a few hours to join us in celebrating the cultures present in Northwest Arkansas.
 

 

 
Naturalization Ceremony
 
Each year on September 17, National Citizenship Day, HWOA hosts a Naturalization Ceremony at the Jones Center in Springdale to celebrate the momentous occasion of becoming a citizen of the United States.  In 2009, 64 people from 14 different countries took the Oath of Allegiance at the ceremony.
 
 
Computer Class Graduation
 
The first session of basic and advanced computer classes will finish on March 17 and 18, respectively.  There will be a graduation ceremony to honor participants on Tuesday, March 23 at 5:00 in the Family Resource Center.  
 
There are to be three more sessions in 2010 beginning in April, June, and September.
